Central Biochemistry Laboratory

Biochemistry laboratories are managed by biochemistry specialists. All kinds of transport and administration of the laboratory, warehouse control, orders, preparation of contracts, purchase and cost accounting, quality control and statistical studies of analysis results, the earliest possible release of results, research, development of new methods of analysis, routine introduction, increase in the number and daily capacity of analysis, preparation of reagents, provision of work department among laboratory personnel, provision of dialogue with patients and clinicians, evaluation of feedback, resolution of problems, organization of maintenance of equipment and the most efficient operation of the laboratory, ensuring the safety of personnel, the continuing training of staff, and the management of the laboratory.

Blood, urine, BOS, etc. sent from sampling units and services is the part where samples are accepted, separated, and sent to the relevant laboratories to be worked on.

The biochemistry laboratory is serviced by three Beckman Coulter-branded AU5832 model devices (modular systems), and tests are conducted with spectrophotometric and turbidimetric methods for these systems.

In the Hormon lab, three Siemens branded Advia Centaur XPT, two Siemens branded Immulite 2000 models, one Roche branded e 601 model immunoassay devices are used.

In the hematology laboratory in the coagulation department, the Sysmex brand is used with 2 CS-2500 and CS-2100i model devices, while in the blood counting department again 3 Sysmex brand XN-1000 models, 1 SP 50 model (peripheral diffusion-boyama), 1 DI 60 model (imaging), and 1 Starsedd interliner brand sedimentation (Westergren method) device is used integrally.

In the blood gas laboratory, four Radiometer brand ABL-800 Basic models are operated.

In the Advanced Research Laboratory, 3 Thermo Scientific brand TSQ Quantum Access Max models are technologically advanced and are operated with the LC-MS/MS method (Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer/mass spectrometer) for drug levels (immunosuppressive drugs, benzodiazepines and drugs).

Our 24-hour emergency lab has one Beckman Coulter AU5800 and one Unicell DxI 800.

Perkin Elmer's AAnalyst 800-model atomic absorption spectrophotometer is used to study elementary elements. Atomic absorption spectroscopy is a spectranalytic procedure that uses the optical radiation cooling of free atoms in gas to quantify chemical elements.

Turgut Ozal Medical Center's laboratories are the departments where all the services are carried out, from the requested tests, the collection of samples that cannot be manufactured (not economic to operate) in our hospital for the time being, to the provision of sample transfer to external centers, the operation of tests and the transfer of results to the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS), which is controlled by laboratory experts and approved in the automation system of our hospital.
