In 1990, the Research Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the Inonu University began temporary service in the barracks of the State Hospital. The foundation of Turgut Ozal Medical Center, the most important and modern hospital project of our country in the field of health, was laid in 1991 and completed in 5 years and entered service in 1996. Turgut Ozal Medical Center of Inonu University, 10 km from Malatya. It is located in the 7,000 acre campus of the Inonu University in the east on Highway 309. The exterior of the building has a barrier-covered facade with high-reflective, heat-insulated windows. There's no window that opens out. Heating in all enclosed areas is provided by hygienic air conditioning in the operating room and intensive care, cooling and ventilation air conditioning plants, cooling groups and air conditioning comprising aspirators.
Our hospital is a regional hospital and receives patients from neighbouring countries. Our hospital, which ranks among the top three in the world for liver transplants, offers a wide range of services including kidney transplants, bone marrow transplants, a burn center. Many of our patient rooms are double rooms with separate toilets and bathrooms. Central oxygen and vacuum systems are in every room. There is a hostel for the relatives of our patients from outside the province and a companion maternity unit for mothers with intensive care.
In parallel with our rapid development and increased experience of 22 years, since 2007 our hospital has implemented the TS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and since January 2012 has achieved the goal of becoming the first university hospital with 3 certificates.
Although most of the medical center's diagnostic and treatment units have entered new service, the medical faculty has left other hospitals behind in terms of service. It continues to lead the way in achieving its goal of becoming a modern and contemporary hospital.
The Turgut Ozal Medical Center was planned as a twin of Houston Methodist Hospital, USA, and opened in 1996 after five years of rapid development, with the foundation laid in 1991.

- The oncology hospital has a total capacity of 217, the liver transplant hospital has 152 beds and the main building has a total of 1585 beds including intensive care, including daycare beds.
- The construction and entertainment of our liver transplant hospital, the first and only in the world, was completed and put into service (2016).
