TOTM Emergency Department Is Being Renovated

TOTM Emergency Department Is Being Renovated

The Turgut Ozal Medical Center (Turgut Ozal Medical Center) of Inonu University will be renovated to provide modern health services more efficiently and will serve patients on a temporary basis.

General physician of Turgut Ozal Medical Center Associate Professor Dr. Erol Karaaslan and Assistant Surgeon General Professor Dr. Mehmet Tekin, Professor Dr. Fatih Sumer, Associate Professor Dr. Ahmet Adıgüzül and Dr. Teacher Haji Bayram Berktaş met with members of the press for breakfast.

The Surgeon General is Associate Professor Dr. Erol Karaaslan announced that a comprehensive capacity increase in the adult emergency service of Turgut Ozal Medical Center is planned.

We are aiming for a modern emergency service

As a result of a renovation of 600 square meters, the adult emergency service will be expanded to 2,000 square meters and supported by a more modern system. Erol Karaaslan, he said:

In recent years, our increasing number of patients, the planning of our nearby areas as TOKY settlements and especially after the major disasters we are experiencing, we see that our existing emergency service of 600 square meters is inadequate. The new criteria of the Ministry of Health clearly show this need. So we've made a very important investment decision under the leadership of our Rector. We're moving our emergency room from 600 square feet to 2,000 square feet. Our new emergency service, with a modern approach, will be planned as a triage area, green, yellow and red intervention areas, emergency radiology unit, emergency laboratory unit and for the first time in our hospital as a negative pressure room for the isolation of infectious diseases.

Working power will be actively used

Karaaslan, who stated that they intend to provide better healthcare services to patients, continued:

According to the treatment system, patients who require simple intervention will be treated in a green area, those who require more advanced intervention in a yellow area, and those who are life-threatening and require serious intervention in a red area. This will both shorten the duration of the intervention and provide more efficient health care. In addition, a full-fledged laboratory will be set up to speed up studies and use the workforce effectively. The Emergency Radiology Unit will also be equipped with two CT scans, ultrasound and X-ray capabilities. As part of this work, our existing emergency service will be renovated for 3-4 months from 1 September. During this time, our emergency services will continue uninterrupted at the temporary emergency unit on the southern front of our hospital. But I would like to emphasize in particular that during this rehabilitation, our patients who really need urgent intervention will be the priority. Applications that do not require qualified intervention will be sent to other hospitals. I believe that our citizens will understand us in this process, and I already thank you for your patience and support.

For 28 years, Turgut Ozal Medical Center has been providing healthcare services to patients not only from the region, but from all over Turkey and different countries of the world, with these studies aimed at improving the quality of health services and providing services in more modern conditions.
